Sembra il paese delle meraviglie, a tratti una pasticceria il negozio di Miriella nel centro storico di Salerno. A due passi dal Duomo e dalle caratteristiche traverse di via Mercanti si trova la Vie en Rose. Appena entri vieni travolto da quanto di piu’ kawaii si possa immaginare, tutto rosa e tutto insieme: gingerbread men, cupcake e ciambelle in feltro, candele a forma di torte e di biscotti, bambole e pupazzetti in resina, fiori, palline, decorazioni, collane, gioielli, vestiti vintage, piattini, sottobicchieri, portachiavi, tazzine….vorresti portarti tutto a casa….ma non sai nemmeno dove iniziare a scegliere!!!
E allora lo chiediamo a lei…a Mriella Imperiale…la creatrice di questo fantastico mondo e di molti degli oggetti esposti….

La vie en rose…..spiegaci un po’….perchè questo nome…perchè lo hai scelto e cosa significa?
Ho deciso di chiamarlo cosi’ perche’ ho comprato,in un negozio di antiquariato,un quadro con delle rose raffigurate…da lì ho deciso il nome ed i colori da usare per l’arredamento…e poi vivere in un mondo “roseo” e’ cio’ ke vorremmo tutti!!!!
Tu vieni dal mondo del restauro, inoltre sai dipingere, cucire “creativamente”, modellare….quando hai pensato che questi “hobbies” potessero diventare un business? L’hai pianificato o è successo tutto per caso?
Ho da subito deciso di “inserire” delle mie creazioni anche perche’, 4 anni fa, non era scoppiata la “rosamania”….ho iniziato a realizzare spille, cerchietti, borse, sciarpe, decorazioni varie per la casa…tutte con il tema rose
Il tuo bellissimo negozio è pieno di gingerbread men, cupcakes, muffin (in alcuni angoli sembra di essere in pasticceria v.foto :)…per realizzare le tue creazioni, da cosa prendi ispirazione? Come si sviluppa il tuo processo creativo?
Per gli articoli “mangiosi” in feltro traggo ispirazione dai dolci veri…da cio’ che vorrei mangiare…ecco perche’ li creo…appago gli occhi e nn devo cambiare il guardaroba.
I materiali che usi e il tuo materiale peferito.
Come materiali nn ho limiti…adoro il feltro,il pannolenci,la lana,la pelle ed il camoscio,il tulle ed il pizzo
Come riesci a conciliare l’attività di creativa con quella di “venditrice” dei tuoi prodotti…come fai a creare, vendere, assistere i clienti, trattare con i fornitori, preparare le vetrine, occuparti del confezionamento (che nel tuo negozio è un’arte) in una giornata di 12 ore?
Alle volte lavoro x piu’ di 12 ore…senza kiudere e senza sedermi nemmeno un attimo…cmq ho perennemente la pistola a caldo in funzione! Ho imparato a cucire a lavorare ai ferri e all’uncinetto in piedi.

Apro verso le 9…9,30…caffe’ al bar…pulizie (e’ necessario ma non sempre ce la faccio), attacco la pistola a caldo (torna sempre utile…anche x le confezioni regalo) e, a seconda dei lavori gia’ iniziati o di quello che desidero realizzare, mi metto all’opera
La playlist ideale mentre crei…
Puo’ variare dal rock al samba, dalla classica al jazz, dal bossanova al lounge…raramente ascolto la radio..perche’ il “parlato”mi infastidisce.
Raccontaci un tuo sogno nel cassetto….
L’ho realizzato…anke se a volte si trasforma in un incubo…per me il mio negozio e’ come una figlia…non sempre mi dà soddisfazioni e mi fa spesso preoccupare!!!
Hai mai seguito/dato corsi o lezioni?
Ho fatto dei corsi per vetrinista e scenografia…ed anche cartellonistica…alla fine tutto torna utile. Per il cucito ho la fortuna di avere una mamma “superdotata” che osservo…ma lei e’ moooolto piu’ brava di me
Hai qualche consiglio da regalare a chi inizia l’avventura nel mondo creativo?
Di consigli non saprei quali dare…sicuramente di seguire il proprio stile e di sfogliare quante piu’ riviste possibile, sia di moda che di arredamento
Progetti e sogni per il futuro. Come ti vedi tra 10 anni? 🙂
Bella domanda…non lo so…non riesco a proiettarmi nel futuro…so solo che vorrei provare sempre un grande entusiasmo per cio’ ke faccio.
Ovviamente anche le USBdolls sono in vendita a “La Vie en Rose”, vi consigliamo di farci un salto adesso per i SALDI!!!! 😀 o comunque per i prossimi eventi che la nostra amica Mirella sta preparando….ma per ora restano una sorpresa!!! Tranquilli vi terremo aggiornati!!

It seems to be in Wonderland or in a pastry shop when you enter in the Mirella’s shop in the old town center of Salerno. Very close to the Dome and in the typical inner city streets you can find la Vie en Rose. At the enter, pink girly and all kawaii stuffs surround you: felt gingerbread men, felt and fabric cupcakes and donuts, cakes and biscuits candles, polymer-clay dolls and characters, flowers, christmas balls, home decorations, jewelry, vintage clothes, small plates, coasters, keychains, small cups. You’d take everything at home but you can’t chooooose!!! So let’s ask to the mind, to the creator of this magic world….Mirella Imperiale
“La vie en rose” is the name you choosed for your shop….well 🙂 tell us why and its meaning….
I chose this name cause I bought a painting in an antique store illustrating some roses… it inspired me for the name and the furniture colors….then everybody would like to live in a world of roses!!!
You are a restorer and a painter, besides you are a great needlecrafter…when did you understand that these hobbies could become a business? Did you plan it or it happened by chance?
I Immediately tought to put in the shop my creations, cause the “roses-mania” wasn’t still with the latest trends 4 years ago….So I started to create brooches, hairbands, bags, scarfs, home decorations….all of them rose themed.
Your amazing shop is full of gingerbread men, cupcakes, muffins (sometimes seems to be in a bakery)…where does your inspiration come from? What about you creative process?
For the “eatable” felt items I get inspiration from real cakes and sweets…something I’d like to eat….That’s the reason I make them…I satisfy my eyes without changing my clothes!! 😀
Material you are used to employ and your fave one
I have no limits about materials…I love felt, pannolenci, wool, leather, suede, tulle and lace
How can you settle you creative activity with the shop owner one? How can you create, sell, help customers, deal with suppliers, make the shop windows, think new packagings (in your shop it’s an art!) in an only 12h day?
Sometimes I work for more than 12h without closing the shop and without taking a seat at all….anyway my glue-gun is always turned on…I learnt to sew and to crochet standing up!!:)
Describe your typical day
I open around 9…9.30, coffee at the bar, cleaning (it’s necerrary but I can’t do it everydayyyy!!!), I turn on my glue-gun (it’s always useful also for packaging), and I get started with new works or the works already underway
While you’re creating….your playlist…
Well it may differs from rock to samba, from classical music to samba, to jazz, to lounge…I rarely listen to the radio cause speech bothers me
One of your childhood dream…
I realized it, even if it sometimes becomes a nightmare, my shop is like a daughter for me…it often makes me worry and it doesn’t give me satisfactions everytime!! 🙂
Have you ever attended courses or given lessons?
I attended some window dresser and scenic design courses…poster designing too…everything is useful at the end of the day. I’m very lucky about the needlecraft cause my mum has got “superpowers” about it….I always observe her but she is longer better than me!!!
Some advices to the ones who want to start the creative adventure?
I actually haven’t advices to give, but I’d surely suggest to follow ist style and to browse as many fashion and interior design magazines as possible
Project and dreams for the future…Where do you see Mirella in the next 10 years?:)
Well…nice question…I really don’t know! I’m not able to see myself in the future, I surely know I would like to have always a great passion for the things I do.
